History

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s EPIC (Emerging Professionals In Columbia) Division has a rich history deeply intertwined with the growth and development of Columbia, Missouri. Founded on the principles of empowering emerging leaders, EPIC emerged in response to the dynamic needs of the community. Since its inception, EPIC has been dedicated to fostering professional growth, networking opportunities, and community engagement for young professionals in the Columbia area. With a focus on mentorship, leadership development, and service, EPIC has become a vital force in shaping the future of Columbia by equipping its members with the tools and resources necessary to thrive in both their careers and their community involvement. Over the years, EPIC has evolved into a vibrant and diverse community of driven individuals who are committed to making a positive impact on the city they call home. Through its innovative programs, events, and initiatives, EPIC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future trajectory of Columbia while honoring its rich history of excellence and service.

What I have found particularly beneficial about EPIC is the professional development events. Recently I have attended the Board Governance 101 event and the event regarding executive leadership and what it takes to succeed at a high-level in business. Subcommittees

If you want to get more out of EPIC, consider joining one of the following subcommittees. Subcommittees are captained by members of the EPIC Executive Committee.

Community Involvement

Provides emerging professionals a platform for giving back to the community by coordinating three service projects each year. Educates EPIC members of local issues, events and opportunities in which they can become involved.

Education and Events

Brainstorms and implements ideas for topics and speakers for all EPIC program events and mixers. This includes professional development lunches, program events, mixer events, and membership breakfasts.

Marketing and Membership

Promotes EPIC by creating graphics and coming up with the best marketing strategies for each event. This committee also recruits and welcomes potential members and works on retaining active members and encouraging involvement.

Mentorship

Propel your career to new heights through our mentorship program. Connect with seasoned professionals who offer invaluable guidance, support, and tailored advice to help you achieve your career aspirations.
